acne?

I started trying 12+ hour fasts lately, nothing crazy, but I’m noticing quite a few zits on my face and body! Is this typical from starting fasting? Trying to determine the cause since I usually have very clear skin. TIA!

Hey there,

Acne typtically appears when there’s a hormonal imbalance.

For me personally, when I did my 6 day water only fast, I had a huge acne breakout on day 2. At the time, I’ve had regular zits here and there, but to my surprise a pronged fast made my face clear up and I’ve had less problems eversince. Maybe your body is still adapting to your new lifestyle!

I’ll bet it goes away over time if you stick to it. The water will help flush out your toxins. That’s what I think anyway. I luckily didn’t get acne but noticed my face was oily. Like way more than normal or pre IF. It is still oily but way less than before.

Answer

I got rid of acne by eating only meat on a strict carnivore diet. Every time I eat broccoli, I break out. Regarding the person who asked me to define toxins, all plants have protective mechanisms that can be potentially toxic to some people. Phytates, goitrogens, glycoalkaloids, and other anti nutrients can cause changes in hormones causing cystic acne or result in allergic responses. This is not a complete list and individual reactions may vary.

I will give you THE answer to acne, please please don’t disregard this, I had acne from 15-19 and yo I was so depressed because of it.

And the only thing that helped, except Accutane a poweful drug for acne, was stop beating your meat. Go a 60-90 day stretch and watch how quick your acne disappears, face looks glowing and good.

So yea that’s it, but seriously don’t ignore that, it took me through 4 years untill I came across it and thought I’d try it.
