I’m 42m do OMAD for over 8 years, was about 5 years on keto, now low carb. 3/4 times i train fasted (before 1st and only meal of the day), but sometimes i train after longer period (i eat one day at 6 p.m. and train still fasted next day at 8 p.m.).
I noticed that these are the best training sessions. Full of energy, strength. So what the science behind it? I know that fasting increases hormones but why i don’t feel it on regular trainings after \~20hrs of fasting, and i need to fast few hours longer for this feeling to kick in?
I do workout during prolonged fasts (6 to 10 days) and noticed significant strength improvements and some muscle growth during refeeds.
I do alternate 2hrs push/pull sessions 2-4 times a week with gymnastic rings. The muscle soreness is way more intense and recovery time is also longer, tho.
Disclaimer: I‘m a total beginner and most likely profit from some muscle memory effect. If you’re a more experienced lifter your experience might differ significantly.
