BM after 88 hours, how?

I’ve been fasting all this month, having had a total of 8 meals. I’ve mostly been doing rolling 48s, but did several days of OMAD. I’m currently 88 hours into a 96 hour fast and just had a bowel movement. How is that possible? While I find the subject fascinating, even though disgusting, and I realize that others may also be wondering about their BM. How much waste does our body store?

The digestive tract is an [a series of] organ[s]. It behaves and performs functions like any other organ. Every time I break my fast, within 30 minutes of eating, I have a solid BM. Every time. Doesn’t matter if it’s been 18 hours or 168 hours.

This is not because I am digesting my food in 30 minutes. It is because my body recognizes that it is undergoing fasting and holds onto the last meal I had in a desperate attempt to absorb more nutrients from it.

Once it senses food again has entered the system, the green light comes back on and boom: a healthy BM.

Where do people think the weight goes when you fast? It doesn’t just disappear into thin air. I mean….you actually do breathe some of it out, but you’re also eliminating it through urine and through bowel movements.
