Collagen supplements for skin sag?

Does anyone know if collagen supplements will help fight skin sag? I look like a deflated balloon. Thanks in advance.

Answer

Collagen in supplements, in short, don’t work. Body produces their own collagen depending on variety of factors (like age), and eating additional collagen won’t make a change. It also don’t work when applied to skin directly. Read more here

You can consider eating foods that increase collagen production. Most notably look at the foods full of amino acids that are used to create collagen or rich in zinc, which boost the body ability to produce collagen.

Not sure how much skin we are talking here, but after weight loss skin sag sometimes goes away (like in case of pregnancy), but the overall result depends on your age, how fast the weight loss was and how much skin we are talking. In some cases however, people need surgery to remove it.

Answer

Skin is stretched during weight gain, it becomes visible during weight loss. Depending on a few factors it will tighten up over time. The full benefits of this are seen in a year or two. I can’t remember exactly. The best thing you can do is to give your body what it needs in terms of nutrients. The better you fuel your body the more efficiently it will be able to perform necessary tasks.

Some people have reported skin tightening through long term fasting. You can Google this. The fasts were longer fasts.

You want to eat and drink nutrient dense foods and water. These help your body perform at a higher level. There is no supplement or skin care product that will come close to giving you the same benefits.
