Does ADF slow down metabolism?

Hi! Im F20, 5’0, 110lbs, about 24%BF. So, I have to attend an event two weeks from now and I kinda need to lose weight fast, but healthy (im aiming for 105lbs) I’m looking into ADF because I’ve read that fasting is better than calorie restriction/deficit. I’m planning to eat my maintenance calories (1400) on my eating window and just water on fasting window. I believe this will seem like I’m consuming 700 calories a day without entering starvation mode (…or not?). I am used to doing 16 to 24-hour fast easily so I think I can handle it, but I’m worried there might be negative effects. Can you please enlighten me? Or give me advice? Thanks in advance!

Answer

Anything that causes weight loss slows metabolism. Especially over long periods of time. Your body does not want to lose fat. Your body does not know that you have a master plan to stop losing weight at a certain point. Your body is freaking the hell out thinking if we keep going like this we’re going to die!
