Early Morning Workout and IF

Hello everyone I’m new on here. I just recently started going to the gym at 6am on weekdays to hit core muscle groups. I get really hungry around 8am but can still wait it out until 11am to stop eating around 7pm. I work from home which makes all this much easier. I guess my main concern is depriving my muscles of nutrients right after a workout. I would love to get some thoughts from experienced IFers who also hit the gym in the morning on how to go about this. Especially if you have some research/links you can post that speaks to this. Cheers!

Answer

I would have to go dig around for the studies again, but basically for the majority of folks the necessity of timing is at best maximizing the last few percentages and more like the fitness industry trying to get us to buy stuff. The body doesn’t stop looking for the resources it needs if someone doesn’t consume a protein shake within 30 minutes of using their muscles.

Getting your daily protein goal in and sticking to a consistent workout is most of what matters for folks just trying to live healthier and build some muscle.
