fasting before and after major surgery??

unconfirmed but i may be getting a nose job in a few months… however, i like to plan my fasts a while in advance (so i can prepare for it) and it would be the perfect time to fast with the surgery…

before the surgery, i’m planning on getting composite bonding, and then moving straight into the nose job surgery. from what i’ve heard, after composure bonding, you shouldn’t eat anything that could stain ur teeth, particularly oily foods. in the country where i’m getting all this done, practically every dish is made with oil, so it’ll be easy to get away with not eating also, i’ve heard that after the nose surgery, the recovery period is painful… when i’m i’ll, i always refuse to eat anyways… i think u only have to take painkillers after the surgery but i’m certain it’s optional anyway…

would fasting be dangerous in any way, or would there be no effect on my body?

Answer

Definitely check with your dr. My surgeon said I should absolutely not fast before and after surgery - my body needed food to heal. Consistency in the months leading up to it will help a lot, but maybe avoid it days before and days after.
