Hair loss at an alarming rate!

5’9 male, 29 years old and 190 lbs. i have always been lean and mainly fasted for autophagy and other general health benefits.

From Jan 2019 until May of 2022, I did about 30-40 fasts in the ranges of 2 days to 14 days. I have read that hair loss can appear about a year after and take even longer to recover from. I don’t suspect this is MPB due to a descent hairline and just general thinning.

My last fast was 8 months ago and it is falling out at a frightening rate. Anyone have a similar experience and a positive outcome to ease my mind? I obviously went extreme with the fasting and am now paying the price.

Yeah I’m dealing with this right now. It’s a real bummer. I had some pretty drastic weight loss about 6 months ago. I slowed it down after that. My hair comes out in clumps. It’s just really sad. I try to tell myself that it’s only temporary but that my new overall health is so much better and that is a permanent change in committed to.

Besides that, there’s not much that can be done. Just waiting.

Were you doing water fasts mainly? I was going to start a regimen of fasting. 1 day a week, 3 days a month and 7 days twice a year. But if hair loss is a thing I need to reconsider. I’m a female trying to grow out my hair and hair loss would devastate me after all the time and money I put into it.
