What do you tell yourself when it gets hard? How do you suck it up and keep fasting no matter what?
You keep going through the discomfort. Discipline will never be easy. That’s why the great saints and lords in ancient stories (Jesus Christ for example) were all revered for their amazing discipline, and even Jesus struggled to fast for 40 days and 40 nights.
Remember that you always have the ultimate control of when food goes into your body and just fight through it, it’s worth it. Try staying busy instead of just laying around thinking about food.
DOs: drink water, start walking, play video games (keeps mind busy so u dont think about eating), go to gym, go outside, listen to motivational podcast
DONTs: eat, watch cooking/recipe videos, watch tv/netflixs (from personal exp it makes me want to eat more)
