IF newbie curious of others!

Female aged 30, looking to lose about 120ish lbs which would set me into the correct BMI.

I know and understand that this is a lifestyle change, and not a quick diet etc etc, however I am curious for anyone who had to lose around the same weight as myself how long did it take?

What should I expect?

How did exercise impact this?

Answer

Not that much, but I lost 60lbs in about 6 months and have kept it off about 2.5 years now.

I made changes that would work long term, I always did a dirty fast, I wasn’t giving up almond milk in my coffee
Cut out sugar, lowered carbs (but didn’t do low carb, I never actually tracked them), stuck to whole foods (90% of my shop is outside aisles)
I do 18:6, tried OMAD, wasn’t for me, I got bingey. I eat at 12/3/5:30. Some trial and error, I need dinner to have a good amount of fat/protein to keep me satiated till lunch the next day

If you haven’t yet, sort out your TDEE, take 500cals off that number and that’ll be a pound a week. Try that for a few days/week and see how you do, you may be able to take off a little more

Try and go for a walk every day. If you’re not doing it now, just start easy, go around the block, then every week add another block, it’ll get easier as you go.

You won’t be 100%, don’t beat yourself up, aim for 80% better than you’re doing now and you’ll be golden!! You got this :)
