I’m shocked

For my whole life, I thought that it was normal to eat 2 meals a day. Apparently it isn’t?? I’ve always done this because I was lazy to get up in the morning and eat breakfast UNLESS if I have to go to school. I still eat breakfast but like usually 11am-12pm then I would eat lunch around 6pm-7pm and sleep afterwards.

Today I found out that eating 2 meals a day is a diet technique called intermittent fasting. I don’t know why this never clicked in my head because I have fasted before (religious reasons) but it usually started around 4am and ended around 8pm.

You learn something new everyday.

Edit: After rereading this I know I seem ignorant but I think I was just poor or lazy back then to think about eating more meals. I just didn’t know what I was doing was called intermittent fasting.

I did fasting just like that too for religous reasons too, sun up to sun down. Currently I fast from 8pm until 2pm the next day, and then I eat until 8pm, again because it fits my work lunch schedule I do 18/6 so that I could stop eating by 8pm.

I agree that in my world it’s totally not uncommon to skip breakfast. It’s not something everyone does, but nobody would blink an eye at it either? But people here sometimes act like it’s really unusual to never eat breakfast unless someone is practicing intermittent fasting. Lots of people do that normally and don’t consider it to be fasting or a diet. I’m American btw.
