Is anyone cold during extended fasts?

I love extended fasts, but I get really cold during them and have no way of dealing with it other than a hot shower or just being in the sun. Does anyone have some other ideas how to deal with being cold, since I work in an office and cant do neither during my work hours?

Answer

I fasted lots and lost about 40 pounds and instantly gained respect for the people in my office who complained about the air conditioning being set too low.

I’d always been the always slightly sweaty fat guy who always had a fan on.But I came to believe that my body was always running hot trying to literally burn off excess energy/calories.

When I fasted and maintained a calorie deficit I got chilly and I believe my body turned down my thermostat to conserve energy. That was before I lost the weight. Now without all that cozy insulation of body fat I get chilly all the time.

When I haven’t fasted in a while I am more likely to be cold. I think it is your body isn’t upregulating using fat as energy as efficiently.

You can try set a timer at work where every hour you stand up, take a quick walk and strength a bit. Basically do some exercise to get your body tapping into fat stores more. But idk if my theory is correct. They say you should try to move every hour anyway so can’t hurt to try this for 2 weeks.
