Hi! I’m sorry if this has alredy been asked. I plan to do OMAD or 23:1 and eating at 2-3pm. Is it safe for me if I want to take daily long walks in the morning? I want to walk 1-2 hours straight.
I’ve read it’s important to stay hydrated and take electrolytes, how can I take them? Will I be okay if I drink Aquarius Zero?
I think it really depends on where you’re planning to walk. In a park of some midwestern American suburb? Most likely you’ll be fine. In the Amazon? You could break the fast of some beast, who will then post a question here asking if eating this human broke his fast.
I’ve done 40 mins walks being about 21+ hrs into a fast. Do not recommend. Eating something beforehand makes a huge difference. I feel almost like passing out if i walk longer than 20 mins after fasting that long. But if i eat before, it’s perfectly fine and i feel energized.
I do it all the time. I have even run a 5k in a fasting state. Unless you are extremely thin, you have enough of an energy reserve to do so. The only thing is your performance will most likely be a little off. When I walk or run I notice I am a little slower and I need more of a recovery time (running) afterwords.
I’ve walked up to 2 hours in high heat/humidity fasted. It’s doable, I had to work up to it to get the electrolytes right. If you’re pushing your pace, don’t be surprised if your body wants to break your fast early.
Depending on fitness shouldn’t be a problem. I will do 4-5 hour walks fasted regularly (or bike rides). I tend to use electrolytes on the bike if I’m working harder or walking if it’s hot, otherwise just water.
