is fasting while driving long distances safe?

i have to travel for 2 and half hours on the last day of my 5 day fast. the fast ends on 12 pm and I’ll start driving at 2:30 pm. do you think i should follow the plan and end my fast before i drive or keep it going? which would be safer for my car-ride?

Answer

Yes. Electrolytes are important. Bring a piece of fruit, granola bar, etc. just in case you feel off. Then you don’t have to think about contingencies, you can pull the ripcord. But driving won’t cause that more than anything else.

Answer

I do it all the time. In fact, I love being in fasting ketosis whenever I’m stuck traveling in a car, bus, train, or plane for long periods of time. It helps me deal with the hectic nature of commuting, plus I think, “No matter how bad it gets, as least I’m in ketosis.” But all this is just IMHO.
