Answer

V8 is not awful for you (except the high sodium) and even the sodium can be helpful if you’re an athlete and need to replenish electrolytes. You get vitamin B and other vitamins +lycopene. Even though there’s no added sugar (I think), the natural sugar without the fiber gives v8 a high glycemic index. This is true for any juiced fruit or vegetable- it just means it will spike your blood sugar and can contribute to metabolic syndromes. So you like it, feel free to drink it it’s not gonna kill you. But we eat vegetables to feel full, feed your gut microbiome, and get enough fiber to be healthy and v8 cannot replace any of those factors so I cannot call it a way to “get more vegetables”. Blending your own unprocessed veggies in a blender is far superior.

Answer

Anecdotally, I felt great and energized when I was drinking a lot of it. It’s acidic so it was killing the outer layer of skin in my mouth (super uncomfortable), so I stopped.

But anything that makes me high on life, I assume is good for me.

Answer

I had horrible food aversions when I was pregnant and could not even look at a vegetable for months. My doctor recommended low sodium V8 to ensure I was getting the vitamins and minerals that I was missing.

Answer

A moron will just tell you “no”. It’s relatively low in calories which is good, relatively high in sodium which is practically inconsequential unless you have heart problems. It provides you with a decent amount of micronutrients at a low calorie cost. So yeah, in moderation, as in once a day or so you could say it’s fine.

Answer

No! It’s extremely high in sodium, 650mg per serving which is 25% of daily for most people! The low sodium version doesn’t taste as good. The problem is the salt is dissolved in, so they need to add way more for you to be able to taste it. I avoid soups at restaurants for this very same reason. Grilled or steamed veggies with a sprinkle of salt (and maybe some pepper and fat) are tastier than V8 at much lower levels of sodium.

Answer

Sometimes I pour about a gram of salt into a big kool aid that I sweeten with stevia. Then I follow with a gram of No-Salt, and I take a magnesium pill that has 5 different chelates. I drink the salts over a few hours.

I wouldn’t recommend you do that; I am supporting electrolytes for fasting or keto. To metabolize fats binds extra salts.

But I just wanted to say - there are good reasons to make colorful salty things out of filtered tap water; it’s just that you can make them at home.

Answer

No just fiber supplements combined with those “greens powder supplments” are a better replacement if its hard for you to eat veggies.

Otherwise just find away to fit actual real veggies in your diet (not blended into juices)
