Just did my first multi day fast.

43 year old 6’3 male who has been omad for a month but was frustrated with the weight not really moving. Began the year right around 290lbs. Got to like 283lbs before the 72 hour fast. Stayed well hydrated with electrolyte water (added the Keto Chow brand electrolyte solution to water) and plain black tea. Even ran about 3 miles about 48 hours into the fast. Finished tonight at 273lbs. My keto strip was a dark purple in the 160 range. Felt great and was very tempted to turn in into a 96 hour fast, thought I could do it no problem (though maybe not the most fun ever)

Any tips anyone wants to share with me going forward? My goal is eventually 225 lbs. Plan on being omad until the next water fast….. how long would be a good time to go before another one? Suggestions on how long the next one should be? Thoughts on cardio/lifting during a multi day fast?

Thanks this group was a big help both information and motivation wise. Look forward to more learning and sharing.

Answer

Congratulations on your first extended fast.

I do 4 day fast most weeks currently, since beginning of the year.

Mostly do light cardio on fasting days and lifting on my refeeding days or the first day of fasting.

I lose about 2-2.5 lb a week on average.
