F; CW: 73kg/160lbs; GW: 65kg/145lbs; Height: 174cm/5’7. I’m 3 days in doing clean IF 16:8 + low carb, keto-ish. No trainings possible due to ankle trauma pending surgery. But I’d like to hear your perspective here - the thing is I usually have evening cravings, e.g if my last meal is at 8pm I’ll be dead hungry by 12pm, which disturbs my sleep. My usual bed time is around 1:30am, sometimes later. I wake up at 8 am for work. My food window currently is 2pm till’ 10pm and that makes me feel full and it’s easy to keep. As per your experience do you think there’s any risk because my last meal is so late? Right now I don’t have any issues with sleep on this regimen.
If you can shift it forward over time, and your sleep time too, you will get better results. Studies show that closing eating earlier has the greatest heatlh and weight loss benefits, earlier bedtime too, due to circadian rhythms. Check out the work of Dr. Sachin Panda for more. I was a night own for decades and had to shift earlier gradually. Avoiding screens and blue lights before bed is important for sleep quality too. Eating within 3 hours of bedtime is bad for sleep quality.
