Macros tracking

Hi all,

Pretty new to IF. Been going about a week and a half strong, and I’ve found it easier than I expected to do the 16/8 split. Going to try 24 hours soon.

That being said, outside of health and wellness benefits of IF, I am trying to lean out for the summer coming up. I’m a 6’1 male 210 pounds, and I workout consistently. I use MyFitnessPal to track what I eat.

I’ve asked people who do IF and a lot say they do not track what they eat anymore since they started IF. Has anyone had experiences either way?

I track my macros very closely because I’m a nerd and I love me some data. If what you’re doing is working I say stick with it.

As far as trying a 24 hour fast, you may want to ease your way up to that. In my experience, going from 16 to 24 is a big jump. But I’m sure everyone is different. If you go for 24, don’t beat yourself up if you come up short. My longest fast is 23.5 hours and I started to feel pretty horrible. I really wanted to hit 24 but I’m just not there yet. But I will try again soon.
