i lot of people think anything under 100 will slow things down but will not reset anything back to the start.

https://spermidinelife.us/blogs/news/how-many-calories-stop-autophagy-1> researchers believe that autophagy may not remain active when any food is consumed. An increase in insulin levels is generally thought to downregulate autophagy.

Answer

According to the Dr Fung IDM program, any fluid consumption other than water (incl green tea, black coffee, etc) risks kicking you out of autophagy. Their recommendation is fasting with water + electrolytes only - IF your goal is autophagy.

I don’t follow this specific protocol advice as my primary goal is not autophagy but reversing insulin resistance. I drink green tea, black coffee, and water with ACV during my EFs.

Answer

Divide your TDEE by 24, that’s how many calories you burn per hour of existing. Use that to figure out how many hours / minutes this item will stall your autophagy for. If it’s not hundreds of calories, it’s not going to reset your fast, just stall it while your body burns through these calories.
