milky coffee making fasting harder?

Hey so I’ve done a few fasts over some years but not many. What I find is I lose my thrist (which is bad at the best of times) & end up getting dehydrated (definitely not looking for ideas about what to drink as I’ve been through them all myself). What I setttled on recently was having an almond milk coffee with 200mls milk 1x daily, this gave me energy as well as hydration so it felt like a win the problem I found is unlike the previous fasts where I lost my hunger I find my body is craving food alot to the point my mouth waters like crazy, I can’t sleep & I get anxious over food. I feel like it has to be the milk but does anyone have any better idea then my guess?

Answer

Can’t you just force yourself to drink water? 200ml of almond milk per day isn’t providing you adequate hydration anyway, so I’m not sure why you’re having it. Plus (as already mentioned) it means your not fasting - unless it’s an “almond milk fast”

Answer

Well, unsweetened almond milk has a very small insulin response, so it should not have a very large effect on your fast. But what is worrying here is that you are implying that everything you drink in a day is a coffee with almond milk? Coffee is diuretic, so it makes you less hydrated, not more. You should be drinking a LOT of water.
