Online Nutrition Services?

Hello r/nutrition! I’ve been seeing an in-person nutritionist/personal trainer for the past few months and while I’m definitely seeing results, it’s becoming evident that the nutritionist is a very “throw something out there and hope it sticks” type of person. While I’ve gotten a much better idea of the amount of macronutrients I should be consuming to hit my fitness goals, I’m looking for someone with a bit more precision, experience and know-how. There have been many times where the nutritionist has gone back on things he’s said, been uncertain about the “why” behind decisions, etc. I don’t want to pay money for that anymore.

Does anybody have any good online nutritionist services they can recommend? Again, I’m looking for nutrition/macronutrient planning from a weight loss/muscle building perspective. I’d much prefer an actual person and not a calculated person plan based on numbers I’m inputting if possible.

Thanks a ton!

Answer

You should see a registered dietitian (requires a bachelors or masters plus a year of supervised practice) not a nutritionist (anyone can call themselves that, no standardized education/training minimums).

You can search in this database of dietitians. It lets you look for telehealth options only and then you select your state so only people who are licensed to practice in your state will come up.
