Pepermint tea is godsend

Just wanted to share with any of you who haven’t discovered it yet but peppermint tea makes fasting so easy! Along with black coffee (which I can’t have too much as it makes me too hyper haha) this tea makes fasting window not a torture. The natural sweetness and feeling of fullness it provides satisfies craving to eat if I get peckish.

It’s something worth learning to love if you don’t enjoy it yet to make fasting easier for you :)

This is so interesting to me and just truly demonstrates how different we all are. I’ve been fasting for almost 4 years now and I’ve dabbled with having flavored teas in my fasting window and no matter what kind of tea I have - peppermint, chamomile, spearmint, lavender, earl grey, lemon, etc.. any tea outside of plain black tea or green tea makes me FAMISHED. If I have tea, I’m breaking within the next hour for sure. It’s annoying because I so wish my body wouldn’t react that way, but here we are lol

I love peppermint tea! The only thing i worry about is I’ve read somewhere that peppermint tea increases insulin activity. Not sure if it means it also increases insulin creation, though, as my biggest reason to go IF is to lower my insulin levels.

Just wanted to say be careful of spearmint vs peppermint! I have hormonal acne and people recommended spearmint for anti-androgen effects, so a large amount could affect your hormone levels. I’m pretty sure just peppermint is fine tho!!

I have a cup every night after I close my window and it truly has become a thing I look forward to which has helped with the mental game of no longer doing my late night snacking routine. Love peppermint tea!
