Problems with dizziness during longer fasts?

I usually do 16:8, but I try to do a 24 hour or longer once a week but I often end up getting really dizzy and breaking the fast. Is there something I’m doing wrong? This happened today, I had some black coffee and carbonated water during the fast, but gave up after 17 hours becauseof how i was feeling.

How long have you been doing IF? It can take your body a while to adjust your insulin sensitivity, so you may just be going through an adjustment period, and your insulin levels haven’t stabilized.

The other thing to consider is what you’re eating during your eating period. Are you eating a lot of simple carbs? Getting enough protein? Are you eating more fiber-filled foods?

I’ve found that I usually feel worse if I end my eating period with a lot of simple carbs, like rice or bread. Fruit, veggies, and nuts are usually better choices.

Might be helpful to monitor heartrate and spot check blood pressure during your normal fasts and then during a longer fast, just to see if there are major changes.

I find that after 24 hours fasting, my heartrate drops by 10-15bpm at rest for example. It comes right back after I break the fast.
