Question for clean fasting

Hello everyone, I am starting fasting. I did it for about a month earlier this year but fell off after a cruise. It absolutely works and I feel committed. Anyway I’m doing the 20:4 approach. About an hour ago I got a cold brew black but realized after I took a sip that it had some kind of vanilla sweetener in it. Did I break my fast? It was one sip but I’m suddenly very hungry.

Answer

There are different opinions about that. Some people stick to the absolute answer that ingesting a single calorie means you’ve broken your fast.Others will say that consuming less than 50 calories will not disrupt the fasting state of your body because it hasn’t reached a threshold to switch from fat burning to food burning.

As for suddenly feeling very hungry, it may be that tasting something sweet triggered your brain by sending it a signal that calories are on the way. But nope, not really!
