Question Regarding 16/8

So about 4 months ago I’ve started intermittent fasting a 16/8 hour split.

I’ve lost a bit of fat/weight, but I’m curious about something.

So I was wondering, would I still lose weight even if I am say 300 or 400 calorie surplus withing that 6 hour eating window?

I know this probably violates the calories in calories out law, but I’m curious how much fat burning is affected by still remaining in a strict IF window but eating just a little bit above maintenance.

I am working out 6 times a week by the way, resistance training.

Answer

“Maintenance” calories are the number of calories you need to consume to stay the weight you are currently.

So…no….you will not lose weight if you eat enough calories to maintain your current weight.

“Calorie deficit” means eating less calories than you expend. You will lose weight with a calorie deficit over time because your body is using more calories than you’re feeding it.
