Starting snake diet again after giving birth worried about vitamin C

So as it says above I’m about to start snake diet again. I didn’t trust consuming the salt when I was pregnant so I stopped. Unfortunately I can’t breastfeed as I had a horrific infection and my body chose to dry up instead of give me milk. So I’m ready to start back. All I’m worried about is because I plan to do rolling 96s or at the minimum 72s I’m very worried about vitamin c due to things like scurvy lol ( I know that’s an ancient ailment but it’s real. ) I plan to only consume the most optimal foods when I eat so grass fed beef, animal fat, organ meats, raw milk and abit of raw honey/fruits for carbs. I’m satisfied my body will eat my fat to sustain itself but it will not obtain vit c from it only from my food so will only eating every few days be enough to keep away scurvy? I could always add asorbic acid to my diet on fast days if it doesn’t affect fasting in anyway?

Answer

I read somewhere that sugar and C compete (sorta) on the same pathways, so that reducing sugar consumption leads to less need for C, esp if you’re eating good sources of protein. I prob totally messed the concept up…

But: I usually take a lot of C but have cut back without any issues since starting keto/IF. If nothing else, the pathways thing would would explain how humans were able to evolve to not store C & survive. (I can try to find the book name, if you want.) Anyway, I think it’s useful to keep in mind, we don’t need vitamins constantly, intermittent sourcing from whole foods is fine.

Iow, try not to worry!

I would worry about getting enough sleep, rest and all that. Babies are hard! Harder than fasting! 😀
