Lots of folks killing it out there but the vast majority of posts are a mixture of minimal weight loss + camera angle + posture + lighting. Keep on keeping on everyone and strive for success daily but it’s something that needs to be mentioned.
IDK if this happens here, but on some subs people will post another before/after thread after every 2 pounds lost. The “before” picture is always the same, but the after picture is always new. They get tons of positive feedback. It could be seen as karma farming, but more likely it’s someone who suffers from low self esteem and needs a boost from strangers every 5-7 days. I don’t like encouraging this behavior as it teaches people to be dependent upon why everyone else thinks of you in order to feel good about yourself, so I just ignore the posts.
Id say just ignore the posts you dont like and focus on the ones that you feel give back. Lots of people post for various reasons and some of them may be doing as you say. Regardless, i think most people can pick the good out of the bad. Good luck in your journey.
