Hello guys,
I have been trying different methods for eating healthy but without stress. I wondered how you guys approach your nutritional care - like resources (books/blogs/products/services/information sites/videos) you use, your mindsets, etc. No promotion of products/services that you have not used. I want to hear real experiences. Also, how do you keep track of macronutrients/micronutrients? Manual tracking is quite arduous. I want to keep the plan simple. How did you find nutritional lifestyle that work for you?
Meal prepping / effective grocery shopping.
Meal prepping guarantees whatever macro ratio you are going for, plus it makes it easy to stay healthy on those days you don’t have the time or energy to cook a meal from scratch.
Grocery shop for specific healthy items that can be used in combo with each other to make quick and healthy meals. You can’t binge on potato chips all night if you don’t buy them. Basically just buy yourself whole natural foods.
I am doing the Mediterranean diet with my husband. He has issues with yo-yo-ing. This is essentially just a way of life but feels less restricting. You can have that glass of wine or so many more options when you eat out of the house. My husband asks for some type of sweets and I found so many good recipes online and on Pinterest. The possibilities of food with this are endless.
Also the belly fat cure by Jorge cruise is another good one. But the original book. He transitioned into the Keto movement and I am against keto. But this book taught me so much many years ago and why carbs are important and fat doesn’t make you fat.
He did Optavia and lost 65 lbs but gained 40 back. And so many other diets.
I am taking a nutritional science course for the 2nd time and came over the Mediterranean diet again
We started a week and a half ago. It’s a lot of cooking but meal prepping has helped. And not eating after 8pm. He has lost 4lbs. I’ve lost 2. But we feelSo much better have more energy because we are consuming Whole Foods.
MyFitnessPal is a great tracker for macros. You can find a calculator online
cronometer - for tracking, I generally figure out what I’m going to eat the day before. Sometimes make changes if I deviate.
I eat similar meals regularly and switch out proteins. Try and get enough veg and fruit.
measuring carbs and fats is particularly important
