This community is amazing.
The progress pictures have helped me realize that my weight is not ok. I’m 5’11 285lbs. I’m amazed at how much better people look at lower weights. Sometimes it’s shocking.
There’s a huge culture denial that keeps people from saying “Hey, you’d look better if you weighed less. “. That’s the message I needed.
I’ve committed to a Spartan 5K in May, and am slowly dropping weight.
Thank you.
I’m all for body positivity. If someone is big and they are happy, that’s fine in my opinion. I’m large and I don’t want people telling me what to do, so I’m not going to tell anyone else. There is an argument for “being thinner is healthier” and I agree. But I’m still all for body positivity.
That said, I’m not happy with my weight or body. So I’m working to change that.
Remember to try not to compare yourself to the progress pictures on this sub. There are people on here that lost 15 pounds and look completely different. I’ve lost 45 pounds and I still look fat. Keep at it though. Best of health.
