Trying to fit my medicine that has to be taken with food into my fasting window

I (25f) did IF for about 6 months to lose the leftover pregnancy weight last year. I started with 12:12 and then added on an hour at a time until I regularly did 20:4-23:1, and even a couple of 48+ fasts sprinkled here and there.

I want to start back again to lose the last bit of “mom pouch” if possible. The problem is that I’ve been prescribed an ADHD medication that I have to take in the morning with food. This is a problem for me because having my eating window in the afternoon, somewhere between 4-8 works best for me.

I did clean fasting before and that had great results, but the only way I can see this working is if I do dirty fasts this time around. I asked my psychiatrist, and he said I could just take my medicine with something small such as a banana, chocolate milk, croissant, single serving yogurt etc..

I would like to find something with 5 calories or less that I could take with in the morning, but I don’t have a lot of ideas. Do y’all have suggestions for a super low calorie snacks that I could use?

Is there a way you can move the time you take your meds? I use to take my multi vitamins (they’re gummies and are 20 calories each or something) at bedtime but now I take them when my fast ends at noon.

All of the things you said he mentioned are in the 100+ calorie range. You should really talk to him about your plan to alter that to 5 calories. Doesn’t sound good to me, but I’m not a medical doctor.

It must be taken in the morning though? I’d speak to the pharmacist (not your physchiatrist, their mental health experts not drug experts) and make sure that that is actually a must, as wel as eating with the medication. I’ve taken meds in the past that “had to be taken in the morning with food”, but in reality you didnt hed to eat it in the morning nor did you have to takeit with food, they just recommended that because it’s easier for people and it coul potentially upset your stomach if you dont eat it with food, but it did not for me.
