What do I do?? Is this normal? I can’t even drink broth without being nauseous and I’m in bed all day. Help please. Has anyone else experienced this and knows what to do?
Electrolytes and a doctor. Get some salt in you and see how you feel.
Edit: this happened to me too and was caused by salt depletion. Now I drink bouillon when I fast and it isn’t a problem. Still… doctor if it doesn’t make you feel better really quickly.
Are you taking any tablets/ supplements or medicine? If you swallow any kind of tablet on an empty stomach you will most likely be sick.
This isn’t normal by any means and you should see a doctor asap
*For the sake of your health, just forget about intermittent fasting in the immediate and eat something until you have sought medical attention. When you know what’s going on you can start again.
See doctor since you can’t hold food down. Did you have any electrolytes during the fast, or just lots of plain water? If it was just lots of plain water and coffee / tea, you’d be losing electrolytes.
I felt sick just 30+ hours into a just water fast!
It’s especially dangerous as a beginner when you don’t have all the info needed, and you see advice like, drink water when you feel hungry. Which is ok advice, but not washing out all your electrolytes and you constantly feel hungry!
Something similar happened to me. When I fasted too long it made my gallbladder go crazy… after a couple tests it was determined my gallbladder wasn’t functioning properly and I had that sucker ripped out. I have no idea why fasting triggered the pain/ vomiting reaction but it did.
It was removed last year, and my health has improved immensely.
Hoping you feel better OP.
Like pp said, go to a doctor and it’s likely lack of salt, one time (I wasn’t fasting) I drank 2 litres of water in one go, I started to feel a bit seek I ate some lays chips and I recovered, luckily I knew it was lack of salt.
Dude drink a pedialyte or rehydration drink. Your electrolytes are low. You can find them at the store in the baby food isle. Works great for adults too.
You don’t need to go to the ER. Save yourself the bill.
