Trying to shifting my window.

I’m struggling to shift my window from evening to morning. Besides the mental habit aspect , my body crashes after morning meals.

I’ve been successfully IF for 5 years now. My windows vary from 4-8 hours (depending on my activity level) with some extended periods here and there. I am able to do intensive cardio, lift, work, etc without a physical or cognitive decline.

While this has been effective for me, I endeavor to explore, modify, and evaluate. I know breakfast allows for effective digestion and gives the body access to fuel in real time.

Thoughts for those who may have experienced this?

Answer

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe there have been any actual studies that have proven the benefits of breakfast. Most of the studies done are either on a very small scale or they are just observational studies - people who eat breakfast are shown to be “more likely” to be healthier than people who don’t, mostly because it shows an increase in activity. People who eat breakfast tend to get up earlier and are shown to be more active. But if you’re already healthy and active, breakfast hasn’t proven to be better or worse.

If eating breakfast makes you crash, I don’t see how it will help you.
