Want to do a fast for the first time and would love any tips?

Hello, I’ve followed this sub for a while and seen some incredible journeys and achievements and I would love to start doing it myself. My 2 reasons for fasting are to lose weight and also to help improve my relationship with food again and exercise some self control. Where do I start? How long for? What can I take for electrolytes? Helpful apps or just general tips would be very much appreciated 😊

Decaffeinated coffee and green tea have natural appetite suppressors and won’t disrupt your fast drink them regularly. In addition keep a jar of pickle juice around for times when you feel not right low blood pressure etc

Answer

I’d say. One meal a day is a good way to start. Make that your normal eating pattern.

Once you are used to it It’s a simple transition to a few 48 HR fasts now and then because you just need to skip one meal and it’s mentally not as daunting.

Particularly with losing weight try to eat very low carb for your meals to keep your body in a ketogenic state and burning your fat even when you are not fasting.
