The first 2 days are the hardest. Im doing my first extended fast now and i never would have thought this but It truly helped me to look at pictures of food online and imagine eating it in detail. Its not that I’m even hungry you just get this desire to taste food and it can get boring when you aren’t eating so keep yourself entertained, meditate everyday at least once a day, keep that image of yourself in the future after you’ve reached your goals and keep reminding yourself that it will be worth it. Im a hypnotherapist so i understand the power of imagination and the mind.. in the morning when you wake up you are in a state of trace. Before you get out of bed keep your eyes closed and imagine yourself how you desire to be.. pair it with uplifting and happy/proud/excited emotions. You can also start the first day with bone broth and eating something light like an avocado and then you can transition into the fast easier. I also rely on coffee and tea to change the taste in my mouth but thats your call. I also would reccomend a little sea salt. I think salt is delicious so it helps to put some in my mouth.

If you feel able to jump right in the deep end then great! I needed to build up gradually with intermittent fasting before hand.

Things I found helped me:

Going Keto before a fast is much easier. Zero app timer ⏱ I have a support WhatsApp group with fabulous fellow fasters. I read lots of fasting literature/ted talks/podcasts: Attia, Mosley, Fung, Varady, Long Drink water ( I got sick when dehydrated but thought it was hunger) Eat salt. Added Epsom salts to bath water for magnesium.

The nights are sometimes hard - exercise helps with sleep but sometimes I still break.

Be careful with refeeding - diarrhoea!

id reccomend starting off slow to kind of “build your stamina”! try starting intermittent fasting and work your way up to a 1 day fast, then however long fast you want to make it easier! while fasting, you dont get electrolytes, so make sure to take electrolye suppliments or drink water with electrolytes when you feel bad during a fast. when you do break fast, start off with something small like a piece of fruit, wait a few minutes, then you can eat a meal
