Weight gain while fasting

Hi, I started fasting last Thursday so on day 8 of it now. Been doing 16:8 and have been following it strictly and usually going over time for fasts. When I’ve been eating it has been clean homemade food and have been exercising daily between walking and cycling.

Today was my first weight in and the scales say I’ve gained 3lbs even though I feel like I have lost and look it.

Did anyone else get small gains to begin with as they settled into a new diet regime ?

Not an expert by any means but this sounds to me like it could be your body reacting to fasting by retaining water.

Once you get into it your body will release it and the weight will go down.

The main thing is as you said you feel good. Keep at it and you’ll see results.
