As the title says!? Can anyone recommend what type of bread is the best. And then what brands to look at. Thanks.
Beware the crazy high fiber in keto breads. They kinda taste like sadness in the form of an edible kitchen sponge, IMO. I’m also team Ezekiel. The English muffins are fab as well. If you’re in the US, Walmart generally sells the bread and the muffins for a dollar+ cheaper than grocery stores. Trader Joe’s has the bread too, but they don’t keep it frozen - so it expires in days vs months. I usually keep mine frozen, take out what I want to eat that day and then toast. It’s dense and seedy - super filling.
Tortillas usually come in the widest variety of special diets (protein, fiber, carbs…). Mission has a tortilla with 7g per 70 calories, but I’m sure there are others.
Mestemacher Protein Bread has 11g for 130 calorie slices. It’s a real, whole rye bread that people might not be familiar with. Long thin rectangles used for open face sandwiches usually.
I literally just made protein bagels: 2 ingredients only: plain Greek yogurt and Self raising flour. Mix knead and put in the air fryer for 10 mins and that’s it, came out very similar to normal bagels.
Comes out to 12g of protein and 110 cals per bagel, you can bump it to 18g if you substitute some of the flour for unflavored whey powder.
Hey thanks. I didn’t know it takes so long for protein to synthesize. To hit your daily limits you’ll need to eat 5 times a day. Even in your sleep ha.
Thanks for the eggs info but know anything about the breads?
