I’m aware that carbs are not good for avoiding tiredness but I don’t know what else go avoid? Protein?
I believe most of the drowsiness is caused by going hypoglycemic after an insulin spike.
- Eat lower glycemic index foods
- Eat your protein and fat first, then carbs (shown to blunt insulin spike)
- Exercise after eating, even as little as a 5min walk, helps blunt the blood sugar / insulin spike
- Don’t eat so much that you are physically stuffed
- Skip desert and alcohol
