Hey all,
I’ve been IFing, EFing, Ketoing, non-ketoing, CICOing etc etc etc… for years now.
Last year I had great success on a keto + IF diet, and dropped 60lbs.
However, I’ve still got more to go, but I am starting to feel a little disenfranchised with the keto WOE, due to it being just SO restrictive, in terms of variety of foods and spending time with friends.
I’d love to know what has given you the most success, but most importantly has been sustainable and didn’t made you, sad.
I’ll try to put some poll options that cover as many bases as possible.

- OMAD + predominantly whole foods eaten to satiety.
- Calorie-counting only as an afterthought (food-journaling) and only on a very rough basis sufficient to track / understand trends (interested more in what than how much I consume – the former effectively dictates the latter).
- High-carb overall (tons of green veggies and moderate fruits daily, rice / pasta / high-GI veggies typically once a week each) though also on the cleaner side of the spectrum (flour and added sugar consumption rather low, heavily processed snack-type foods and sweet-tasting beverages virtually nonexistent).
Context:
- ~20 months of practice; by no means an eternity but long enough to feel confident that it works, is subjectively perceived as sustainable and produces no marked ill effects.
- Random formerly chronically borderline-obese couch potato who wanted to downsize and get a little healthier for a change, without having to constantly fight hunger / cravings and/or log miles on the treadmill.
- Non-goals: Building or preserving a whole lot of muscle; fueling a whole lot of daily activity; improving insulin resistance / metabolic syndrome / T2D (though my glucose tolerance certainly has improved).

going with keto/low carb because I determined my body doesn’t do well with carbs. I try to stick to the 20g but if I go over a bit, by no means do I kick myself, because I know in terms of food, I’m still staying low (except if I’m having beer/mead)
