You would need to do a mental reset. Get rid of addictions. For me at least 2-3 weeks of water fasting will do that, during the fast, fill your mind with information about healthy eating. It works. Trust me.
For me, fasting (maybe up to 40h) helped me get a grip on hunger, so it wasn’t as annoying and it was much easier to ignore. I used Dr Fung’s the Obesity Code to guide my fasting when I started.
ETA: protein and fat are satiating – can you tweak your diet?
I started doing 16/8 IF, then eventually 18/6.
I used to eat basically all day, on and off, and binge at night. I was always grabbing something.
Now? I binge 6 hours a day, barely enough time to get in my calories, and I could not care less about food on my ‘off’ hours. It took a few months to get here, and the first couple weeks were rough. But I got here.
As an aside, I’m vegetarian and eat loads of carbs.
What does your diet look like? I’d start there. If your diet is contributing to you feeling like you need to eat all the time then fasting is going to be a vicious cycle that will only make you feel worse.
