Before I begin this post, I owe an apology to u/SpaghettiOnTuesday for my rude response. They are right. I broke my fast and I am not longer fasted.
Now for what everyone wants to know: Starting weight: 163.2 pounds End weight: 144.8 pounds Height: 5’8”
Future plans: I plan to “continue” my fast. I am going to start over from zero and do a 16 day fast how I would have wished to initially. My goal is not to weigh a certain amount, but to be at 10% body fat. I started at around 19% and now I am currently at 16% body fat. I used fasting as a way to quit vaping and smoking weed, as I was a chronic smoker and could not stop being high for the life of me.
TIMELINE: Day one: I felt good about day 1. Day 1 started on Tuesday, March 7th at 9:00 PM CST. I felt a bit hungry but I didn’t even realize I hadn’t ate. Day two: I felt terrible. I felt like throwing up and I was so nauseous. Turns out, this is due to electrolyte deficiency and dehydration! SO DRINK YOUR ELECTROLYTES. Day three: I continued to be nauseous, but I persevered anyway. I was tired and felt weak. My heart would pound so hard everytime I stood up or did anything. Day four: By far the best day. I drank electrolytes and the nausea went away completely. I worked a 8 hour shift standing up at McDonald’s and I never felt hungry. Last few hours: My girlfriend got mad at me for not eating her food, so I gave in and ate a bite smaller than the size of my hand of some eggs and potatoes.
Insight: Throughout the entire fast it was incredibly hard to sleep. I felt tired, but I also did not want to sleep.
The nausea comes from your body switching metabolic pathways, dehydration, and electrolyte deficiency.
You can still exercise during a fast, but I would recommend going light. Many times I would go hard on the heavy bag and everytime I would breathe so heavy.
There is no known cure for the horrible cold we all experience while fasting.
I failed this fast many times before I even got past day two, so if you have failed, get back up and keep trying again!
Bonus tip: YOUR MENTALITY IS WHAT MATTERS THE MOST!!! FASTING IS HARD IF YOU THINK ITS HARD! I FAILED MANY TIMES BECAUSE I “FORCED” MYSELF TO FAST. DON’T FORCE YOURSELF TO FAST. MAKE IT A CHOICE
I had similar results when I started. Probably because I had so much to lose.
It’s slowed a lot. But still slowly going down
