Youre a child, you need the nutrients while youre developing. Eat healthier, but do not fast or restrict yourself. I recommend opting for nutrient dense food to make a lifelong lifestyle change to be healthy.
I agree, at 16 I was way to prone to restricting and starving myself and then getting a high on the sense of self control and deprivation. IF takes a lot of mental awareness to recognize the difference between listening to my body and being aware of my health and trying to control my body and starve myself. On IF, I am not hungry or deprived, but there are many times when my little brain tells me to restrict more than is healthy and I have to push back against it, like, “no! We’re not being anorexic, we’re making sustainable changes, so chill”. It’s a very conscious relationship with my body and mind. You don’t sound overweight and you’re active. When I was younger and wanting to lose a few pounds, I focused on cutting out empty calories (chips, soda) and eating food that had a nutritional value. That usually worked.
