2 Large Meals in 16:8?

I’ve watched one of the videos of Dr. Eric Berg and he recommends 2 large meals in the 16:8 plan since one purpose of IF is to eliminate snacking. Will snacking on healthy foods such as nuts or boiled eggs hurt my results or defeat the purpose of IF? Thank you.

It doesn’t matter what you snack on, each time you’re spiking your insulin, which is the problem. If you pick healthier low carb snacks, that’s better because the spike may not be as high and or as long, but you want to avoid as much as possible to get the benefits.

I think your comment reply to me was removed, so to clear things up, that youtube creator is not an authority on intermittent fasting. He’s a chiropractor and I personally, and lot of us on this sub, consider him a quack.

He’s not a person you should be looking to for health advice.

I eat a large breakfast around 9 or 10 am and then around 2 I snack on baby carrots, small amount of sweet potato and plain yogurt. Then at 4:00 I eat a large taco salad made with 99 percent fat free ground turkey. (Made up ahead a time with homemade taco seasoning) A few snacks after and done by 5pm. I do this everyday except Saturday where I eat a bunch of chips and chocolate, walnuts and avacodo. I’m been able to maintain my ideal weight at 130 pounds and 5’4”

What’s important are your calories. So if your snacks are part of your caloric needs for the day, then they’re fine.

But usually we tend to ignore snacks, or don’t think they add a lot to our calories for the day. So it’s usually best to not have them. And, yes, if you’re not counting, the calories of snacks can add up quickly.
