This is the longest I’ve ever gone.
I’m doing well but I’m hungry and feel like eating. It was someone’s birthday at work and there’s a cake in the kitchen. Though tempting, I realize that going ahead and giving into the temptation is not going to make me feel better, not going to bring any relief, etc.
Hoping I could last through the next 2 days. Coming this far has been great, and I feel like I could go all the way, but like I said, I’m pretty hungry at the moment. Some encouragement or advice would be helpful.
Great job skipping the cake! That can be so hard, and making it to 44 hours is so impressive ✨
I have an easier time riding out hunger when I remember that it usually passes in 20 minutes. If you feel like breaking you can tell yourself you’ll evaluate how you feel in 20 minutes and do something else to keep your brain busy. That could be replying to an email, watching a show at home, reading Reddit, taking a walk. Often that’s enough to let me get to a point where I feel like I can keep going. Also, don’t underestimate the power of water, carbonated water, coffee, and tea.
Best of luck, and if you do decide to eat remember that you’ve set a new record for yourself!
Great job! Avoiding temptations is the game. You’re doing great

Don’t get discouraged on day 3. It’s regularly rough for people (about 60-72 hours for me is the tough part. I’m actually just now coming out the other end of that on my current fast). The hunger I remember fading around that point, too (from when I used to get hungry). Then it settles into a couple minutes of hunger here and there in the following days but nothing persistent. Actually one of my favorite things about hitting that point is I can smell anything delicious and really enjoy how it smells without feeling hungry. It feels like a super power
Once you get past 2 days reliably, fasting is pretty easy. It’s the first 2 days imo that are killer.42 hours in myself right now… which is why I’m trawling reddit looking for others to support
Keep going, once you’re past the 48+ hours it’ll all just start getting easier.
