If i really need water, ill just rinse my mouth. Or take a small ass sip. Is this a good tactic?

If you really need water, then you drink. You simply have to make a good judgment call on when to break it. Don’t break it part-way with a small sip. If you are truly in danger and need to break it, break it completely and let your body recover until you try again.
