Anybody have experience with fasting after breastfeeding?

I have a 14 month old daughter whom I’m still nursing approx. 2-3 times a day, and then countless times overnight (😵‍💫), and I’m gearing up to wean when I return to work in July, and I’d like to go back to fasting (previously did 20/4, some days OMAD). If anybody has been in this situation, just wondering about your experience. Did you lose your milk supply fairly quickly? Was it impossible because breastfeeding makes you insatiable? Thanks in advance!

Hi I’m fasting while breastfeeding my 2 year old, my supply hasn’t dipped at all, she feeds all day at any time and I have plenty of milk. I usually do 18/6 and do a 24 hr fast once a week. I’m losing weight, have lots of energy and really dont feel hungry at all. I do make sure I get lots of nutrient dense foods, lots of protein and vegetables. I am low carb though because carbs really don’t make me feel great and I make sure I am well hydrated. I think there’s only an issue with fasting and breastfeeding if you are feeding a younger baby. The baby should also be well established on solid foods and eating well,

It’s technically not recommended. Even tho your milk products will most likely be the same, the neutrino on in it can take a dip. Also you can expect that if you have way to little nutrition in your body, your body will still take all the necessary vitamins from you and use it in the milk. So your bones can get pretty weak and you can get some health effect for life.

If you chose to fast you should only be on a light intermittent fast and nothing like water fast. 8 hours window can be good option for you.
