I’ve searched the subreddit but could not find any info.
100g of raw honeycrisp apple with skin - 0.1g protein, 0.1g fat, 14.7g carbs (1.7g fiber & 12.4g sugar)
100g of raw Granny Smith apple with skin - 0.27g protein, 0.14g fat, 14.1g carbs (2.5g fiber & 10.6g sugar)
So a few things stand out. The Granny Smith has nearly triple the protein, more fiber, and less sugar than the honeycrisp. In actual size (because who just eats 100g of an apple?), the Granny Smith has a smaller serving size of 1 apple (usually, Granny Smiths are typically snaller than honeycrisps). That being said, the amounts are nominal and not likely to make an impact. If you are looking to really tighten down a nutritional profile, then there are differences, but for the vast majority of people it will be inconsequential.
You’ll actually get more benefit from eating the entire core, seeds and all, than you will from trying to select a “healthier” apple.
Apples are a great fruit.
