If I start out slow like no eating after 8 pm until 10 or 11 am, will I still lose weight or is it pointless? Thank you!
I do 16:8, or 18:6 if I get spaced out on a task. (Forget to eat)
If I were a bit more active, I’d lose weight like crazy. I’m in upper range of “normal” BMI, and I should be on the low side.
I’m very stable in weight, and don’t watch calorie intake, and some days, I honestly eat pretty junky. Chips, sweets. I like my daily soda.
So, a person not perimenopause, younger, not estrogen freaked out…. Yeah, it will be a big help.
IF has health benefits aside from weightloss (decreased risk of diabetes, better sleep, less inflammation, better skin) but if your primary goal is weightloss then that eating window is a good start! You may see some weightloss if you have more to lose (50+lbs)but I’d say 16hr fasting window is the minimum to see weightloss. I had about 25lbs more to lose and 16hr didn’t work fast enough for me and 20hr was too limiting so I average more 18hrs & once weekly 42-48hrs. I was losing 1-2lbs/weekly initially and now more like 1lb/week and I’m 13lbs away from goal now. So start with your 14hr window and try to increase slowly over weeks, if you’re not getting the results you’re looking for. We all have to start somewhere! Good luck
