Broke my first fast

I just broke my first fast after 48 hours, really wanted to push to at least 60 hours but I just couldn’t. Hope I can do better next week, bummer, feels like I undid all the effort from those painful 48 hours.

It gets a little bit easier every time. For me pushing past 24 hours was agony. The first couple of times I did it. These days it’s just kind of normal. I get pretty solid hunger pains at 16 hours and then again at 22. And then I slip in the ketosis. And the hunger pains go away.

After that, it’s kind of just cruise control, but I often end up breaking around 45 hours because I’m responsible for feeding a family of four. It’s hard to be cooking regularly and playing in the kitchen and continue fasting. But my wife, bless her heart, is active duty. She would gladly shoulder this burden if she could. Until the day comes that my kids can make their own dinners, I’ll just be fine with my two day fast.
