I mean, sure you can, OMAD exists, depends on what the meal is. Will it be a soup? A half of rotisserie chicken? A huge portion of rice, chicken and broccoli? And, will it be sustainable for you? Can you stand having sustenance only once a day? Are you ready for night’s hunger pangs and morning fatigue?
Why not? As long as you eat enough calories in that meal, aren’t underweight and don’t have an eating disorder, I think it would be okay.
But when you’re not sure for health reasons you should ask your doctor. When you’re new to fasting maybe try something less drastic.
Yes you can do it and I don’t think it’s extreme. Thinking that humans have to eat several times per day is extreme. With that said, whether you succeed at OMAD or not depends a lot on the details.I’ve been doing OMAD for five years now and for me there is no need to eat more than once a day. And the cool part is that I’m never hungry.
When you think about OMAD …. Think 4 hr window.
You won’t be able to finish all of the food you want in 1 sitting, it just doesn’t work like this. You have to get there slowly.
Maybe 1 plate of heavy food followed by juice, yogurt, fruit, nuts, etc.
You will need time to settle the stomach, you need to remember to drink while you eat. — otherwise you risk choking yourself in the middle of the night because you can’t breathe and your body is (dry) digesting from your esophagus to your intestines…
