These kind of questions always make me want to ask: What if the answer is no? Will you do nothing because you can’t lose 40 lbs.? Will you settle for 25 or 30, or will you give up before starting? ADF for 4 months will give you a lot of progress. I hope it’s 40 lbs.! But if it’s not, do it anyway!
Yes! But depends. are you keeping a narrow window on your feeding day? I lost 30lbs in 3 months but I did not drink anything with sugar, only had one meal on my food day and super low carb / whole foods cooking
First time commenting on a Reddit so please don’t chew me out. I’m a registered nurse and 21. I started intermittent fasting not too long ago. Maybe under 2 weeks ago. I’ve been on a calorie deficit (1200-1400 a day) and jweight training 3 times a week and weight training 3x a week (eg Monday Wednesday Friday) and cycling at home on my off days just for 20 minutes when I have time due to doing shift work. With all this combined I have lost just under 4kg in the space of 1.5 weeks. So I’d say yes it’s possible but intermittent fasting alone won’t help you achieve that. Albeit my whole family are doctors so I’ve had medical input (which I sometimes ignore lol)
I don’t like to weigh myself often as I have struggled with eating disorders in the past but I weighed myself on the 5th September: 119.8kg and weighed myself 13th September: 115.1. There is also a difference in my clothes.
All this to say it’s absolutely possible to lose that much in a healthy manner but IF alone probably won’t get you there 🤍
I lost 50 pounds in 5 months doing OMAD so I would say yes it’s possible if you stick with it. But it only took 3 months to gain all of it back 😭. I’m on my second attempt and hoping to stick with it this time. Good luck!
